He is young (Can you believe that this talented rapper is just 18?!); but once he starts spitting out his lines, you will be taken aback. Meet Airliftz, a young and talented rapper originated from Soundcloud. Let us all forget about him being viral about the nasty remarks by the public. Personally for me, looks are just superficial. Instead, I want all of you to go and listen to his single "Gwalos"...! He is really dope, and I am not joking. It was an honour for me to get to interview him. Read my interview with him down below!
Zara Kayangan (ZK): Yello there Airliftz! Frankly speaking, I am quite nervous on interviewing you. I still remember that time where I discovered you randomly via Soundcloud and I was like “This guy is going to be the next big thing in Malaysia. His bars are dope as heck!” Seriously, man. You can go soar further in this industry.
Airliftz (AL): Haallow there Zara! Hahah I'm not sure about being "the next big thing" in Malaysia though. Lotta good ones out there on the hustle! Naaah but hahah thank you. Tryna write better!
ZK: Regarding the issue about you being viral because of those people who judged you for your looks, what do you feel about when you see so many people come and support you? Even Alessia Cara went to support you!
AL: Ah yeah about that "me" going viral, aaargh I didn't expect that to happen. I feel blessed and happy because I'm seeing mad love and supports from people DMs and all that! Couldn't get back to any of them because there were too many flooding my DMs, but I wanna say thank you all for the love and support. I really appreciate and I actually read it one by one! Aaaaand YEAH ALESSIA CARA THOUGH! I was so surprised that she personally DM me on IG about me and ish! I was like WHAAAAT OMG it's really her! But it ain't just about Alessia Cara though, but the mad support I'm getting from the people is just that amazing too! :) #thankyall!
ZK: Hahaha... For me, those haters are just plain jealous of your talent. Ok, I follow your progress from being a Soundcloud act up until sharing the stage with Tinashe at the “H Artistry” event. What is your reaction to the progress of your career?
AL: OH HAHAHA YOU GOT IT ALL WRONG THERE! Welp, I wish that I was on stage with Tinashe! I was just there for something, but it was a damn lucky day for me though cause I met Tinashe and I passed my single to her. *she's cute though HAHAHA
ZK: Hahaha... Guess I get things all mixed up then. Still, you are such a badass rapper. Ok, since when you started discovering your talent in rapping and why did you choose Soundcloud to showcase your talent? |

AL: Naaawh I'm not but thank you though! :) Welp lets go way back it all started back when I was 13. When I met my friend Khalif lah (my best buddy) from another best buddy of mine , Rais. I was rapping bla bla bla then Rais was like "Dude, you should hang out with Khalif" (as in making music and stuffs) and he told me that "You should perform at school and all that." Hahah but I didn't cause I'm wack though! And we started doing rap covers making beats online (before I discover FL Studio) and writing raps and more wackstuffs HAHAH. Then I decided to do more of that till I hit my first stage (few years later, I was 16) at the RTBOPENMIC. *shouts to Raising the Bar!! I was so happy and so nervous that I forgot my own lines HAHAH. When I got off from the stage, people (even rappers) told me that I should do more and it made me feel like "Yo lets geddit!" LMAO #blessed
Well... To me, Soundcloud is a great platform for people to put out their stuffs and I know that a lot of people be up Soundcloud all day!
ZK: Whoa, nice story you got there, dude! And apparently you're now talking to an avid Soundcloud creep... Hahaha... Anyway, if you are given a chance to collaborate with anyone, local or international acts, who did you choose and why?
AL: YOOO DUDE ALOT! I can't name everyone from the list though but like Childish Gambino, Kyle, Logic, DVSN, Jhene Aiko, Tatiana Mananois, GangtheLabel... I don't know. A lot! Why? Because they're dope! HAHAHAHA
ZK: I love Jhene Aiko too! Anyway... We reach at the end of the interview. What are your current updates? Any words for your fans out there?
